Marlaina's summer exhibition
will debut eighteen new dynamic works that give the viewer an intimate glimpse into the universe and the inner human landscape. Her large, jewel-toned canvases celebrate the mystery and magnificence of the cosmos and our place within The Big Picture.
“Kósmos is a fusion of macrocosm and microcosm, a visual meditation on dark matter—the hypothetical, unseen web that holds everything together. What holds galaxies and heavenly bodies in place also holds us. I believe someday we will bridge the chasm between science and spirit and come to understand that they are one and the same, cut from the same infinite cloth.” Springboarding from this comparison, key pieces in the exhibit will be draped with lush fabrics, inviting the viewer to pause and remember their innate connection to the Unknowable Whole.

In 2016, something magnificent and life-altering happened to me, impacting both my physical and internal emotional life. For a decade, only a few people have been privy to the details, but mostly, I have told my story in my art, the 200+ paintings housed in my studio reserved for a future time. The past ten years have been a gestation period, an alchemical forge,
and Kósmos is the result. -excerpt from Kósmos: A Journey of Emergence
