Joe Donato is the author of the historical biographical novels Saber's Honor and St. Mark's Avenue: Life in Old Brooklyn. Joe was born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Madison, New Jersey. Despite showing considerable talent in art and having aspirations to be a sculptor, Joe majored in finance with a minor in philosophy and received a degree from Seton Hall. Not seeing himself in the rigid world of finance, he opted to be a mail carrier and met many characters along his route in East Hanover, New Jersey.

 

He lives in rural Pennsylvania with his wife,  author-composer Marlaina Donato, where he pursues his love of the outdoors and walking along the shores of beautiful Lake Wallenpaupack. His passions include history, art, and seeking the objective and truth beyond the subjective.
